Logan & Madeline's Timeless Portland Wedding

We first met Logan & Madeline in 2019 - almost a year before their wedding date - but didn't start talking through details about their first dance until a few months before their big day. They had a handful of different song ideas in mind, but in the end we decided to go with "True Love Baby" by Father John Misty. We chose this song because they loved the artist, it wasn't an overplayed first dance song and the tempo was ideal - not too fast, not too slow. Entering into this with no prior dance experience, they didn't have too many requests for their dance, except that Madeline was adamant about not being picked up off the floor. No lifts and no tricks. Fair enough. She was originally a little hesitant to do any dips either, but as you can see from their star power photo above I eventually talked her into it and they nailed it!

Their dance was classic and debonair - with turns, fancy footwork and plenty of romantic moments. We practiced with them for 2 months and finished teaching them their dance one month before their wedding. That gave them an entire month to practice and commit to memory their moves so they could really feel comfortable and confident on the dance floor. Logan and Madeline did all the right things - they planned and started their dance well in advance of their wedding date, practiced diligently and most importantly, let loose and put their own personalities and style into our choreography. They got hitched at the beautiful West End Ballroom in downtown Portland, Oregon.
